The Heartland Conference is recognized as being a well run show, I’ve heard this several times from my colleagues in the industry. We were not a VGM Vendor until last November, so attending was not an option. This year Andy Hicks and I were excited to attend and it was a good show for us!
The first night started with a hog roast and a huge fireworks display. I am not much for fireworks, but have to admit that they did an exceptional job! The night was also great for networking. I met Paul Tobin, who is the President and CEO of United Spinal Association. It was great talking with him about all the exciting new things happening with his organization! I don’t know if you heard, but they recently folded Users First, a consumer advocacy group and New Mobility, a great magazine for active wheelchair users, into United Spinal. What a great fit!
The reception was well attended along with the open exhibit hall the following day. Andy did a seminar on standing on Thursday with over forty attendees! He did a great job! Andy also attended the get together at Van Millers house. He mentioned something about, “Mr. Miller will not miss a few golf clubs.” I hope he was kidding!
What tradeshows do you attend on a regular basis? Do you make important connections at these shows?
