Click! A Checkered Flag Photo Finish

Being the photographer here at Altimate Medical, I am always on the lookout for our next photo shoot opportunity! In a previous post “Driven to Stand“ we introduced you to Guy Forbrook a C6-7 quadriplegic who came to our facility to try the Glider after hearing about it from a close friend and fellow racer, Tony Stewart! Now Guy is excited to have his own EasyStand Glider, “I could feel the difference after the first couple of days!” He said. “It’s nice to get in here and stretch.”

We took a trip down the road from our manufacturing facility to Forbrook Motorsports to take some pictures of Guy. Stepping into the garage I see him working on his son’s go-kart. “I’ll be with you in a minute” he said as he applied an tacky material to the inside of the go-kart tire.  Well, long story short, this “Guy” is interesting. Hundreds of sprint car victories, nine Knoxville championships, World of Outlaws Mechanic of the year, and the list goes on. But there was something about him, I just couldn’t put my finger on…

After I shot several pictures and started telling him about my experience as announcer at the Redwood Speedway about twenty years ago. “Most of the Active Quad Racer Uses EasyStand Glider Standing FrameSprints at Redwood were 350’s, but once we got the 410’s in. I remember it well, it was loud!” I told him. “They only ran 410’s once on that track” Guy said. “Do you remember who won that race?” He asked.  Now very curious, I had to admit that I couldn’t remember. “ I did!” He said with a smile!

The fact that I had announced the sprint car race that Guy won in Redwood Falls created a perfect photo opportunity. Click!  Now I have my picture with the legendary Guy Forbrook. What a fun experience, can’t wait to go back!

Do you have an interesting story to share? You never know, you could be part of my next photo shoot!
