I have heard of people falling asleep in their stander and here is proof! Max’s mom, Deana said Max snoozed for about ten minutes in his EasyStand Bantam after a grueling Monday of school and physical therapy. I guess that means he was pretty relaxed?
I think this is awesome progress, considering that before Max’s family found the Bantam, they tried four different standing frames with him in rehab. Max’s mom explains, “He would scream and fight us with each one! He felt out of control when we put him into the standers because we had to lay him in or strap him in standing up. The sit-to-stand feature on the Bantam is the only reason we even attempted
another stander. He is never upset when moving to standing because he can sit, just like he would in any of his other chairs, before standing.”
I have really enjoyed being able to read about Max’s adventures on his blog. He recently started school and I especially like seeing his creative artwork. He uses a special tool that his OT made for him out of PVC pipe, to hold his crayons.
Read more about Max’s standing program here or read Max’s “King of the Wild Things” blog here.
I agree with Max’s mom 100% – He gets an A for effort! Way to go Max!
