As a disabled person I am always pleased to see a new children’s book series that deals with disabilities. When I was growing up I can only recall reading one book that dealt with the subject. For that reason, some time after I graduated college I wrote and released my first children’s book with a disabled main character. I’m proud to say The Adventures of Baby Jaimie now has two books in the series and I am currently working on a third.

I recently ordered this “special critter” book from our library for my son. He liked it and it brought up some questions which is always good. Alex (the kid in the wheelchair) could use a sportier chair though :)

We love the Little Critter books at our house because they teach lessons in their stories in such a cute way… it is great to see the authors addressing bigger issues then bath time and new siblings.
