My brother Pete asked me to call a former co-worker of his, who was looking for a very specific power wheelchair, to see if I could help him with my DME connections. I called him and got the unfortunate story of how he took every step needed to get this chair, including trialing the product to make sure it was right, getting a good letter of medical necessity, working with a very good supplier and going through several appeals. He still lost. It was a bummer, but he still wanted the chair even if he had to pay cash for it. It just so happened that the rep for this wheelchair also represents our products EasyStand standing frames. Even better, the rep had a demo wheelchair to sell and is now working out a good deal between this guy and the local supplier he worked with originally.

Many of our reps have vans like this loaded with samples for trial and/or sale!
Remember, all manufacturers have demo equipment that also needs to be sold. So if you are looking for a DME product at a lower cost, it’s worth checking with the local supplier or rep to see if they have any demos for sale in your area.
If you are interested in purchasing an EasyStand demonstration model at a discount, contact our Inside Sales Coordinator, Kevin Markgraf, at 800-342-8968. He can connect you with a local supplier and determine if the product you are looking for is available in your area.
What obstacles have you had to overcome to get the equipment that you need? Do you have any tips or advice for people who are willing to pay cash for medical equipment?
