I got a tweet this morning from a mom, who wrote a blog post about her experience with the EasyStand Bantam stander for her son. They have tried several other standers in the past but have not found one that her son could use.
Mom explains, “I asked one day if they could recommend a stander for a little guy who hates standers. They recommended the Bantam. I called up our DME provider and asked him if he could get his hands on one, and we set up a date to try it out….In total, he was in the stander around 45 minutes. That’s the most he’s ever tolerated a stander. And he stood the longest he ever has, around 10 minutes at a time. T.D. took the specifications back with him and will get it ordered.”

Thanks for the pointer towards the Bantam! Max has a rare metabolic disease, Methylmalonic Acidemia with Homocysteinuria, which caused severe epilepsy the first year of his life. He had 2 brain surgeries to remove the seizure focus, and he always been very hypotonic. The Bantam really is such a great choice for us! Now we’ll just get wait to see if we can get the funding through insurance and medicaid.

This is a great post, and so is Deana’s. I really encourage you to take the time to read through the article as well as explore Twitter. I too have met some of the most amazing people on Twitter. I’ve found help, ideas, support, and so much more connecting with others. EasyStand, and specifically Jackie, do such a great job educating people on their standing products, and just plain helping people.
