Today (January 15, 2009) is supposed to be the coldest day of the year here in Morton, Minnesota, where Altimate Medical is located. The current temperature is -20 degrees Fahrenheit, which “feels like” -38 degrees (as stated by the Weather Channel).
So we decided to have some fun with a little science experiment… watch the short video below to see what happens when you throw boiling water in the air during insanely freezing temperatures.
Stay warm wherever you are…

Where in the world was your hat?! You are going to get pneumonia. When I got up this morning (6:00 AM) our temp gauge outside said -39 degrees. That is with out wind chill. I could not believe it. Thank goodness for furnaces.
I can tell you have nothing to do today?
I will fix that when you return home!
That is pretty good guys! Nice way to bring some humor to this frigid cold!
Can’t see that it froze in the video, must not be THAT cold there. :-P
That was entertaining – but I’ll be REALLY impressed when you figure out how to make it suck all the coldness out of the air and leave a nice beach. Get your talented R&D department going on that!!!
Happy Winter! All the best…Doug
The same morning my car read -38. Cold doesn’t begin to describe!
The next best thing to the water trick is to blow bubbles outside. They freeze instanly and shatter on the ground. Try it!
There you go Mark-blowing bubbles your next video idea! Hopefully it won’t get that cold out again : )
Mark- How do you “boil water really hot”? It only reaches boiling temp– after that it is steam. I will admit that is really hot water.
